Since the inception of the groundwater sampling program in 2003, the Arkansas State Plant Board has sampled 242 wells in 26 different counties. Of these, 38 wells tested positive for pesticides. When a well tests positive, it is scheduled to be resampled. If it continues to test positive an investigation is begun to locate the source of the contamination.
In addition to the wells listed here, the owners of 29 wells denied access for sampling. Two of these wells were in Cross county and 27 were in Mississippi county.
The map below shows where all of the sampled wells are located. Red triangles indicate pesticides found in the well water. Click on one of the yellow counties to see the detailed results for the individual wells.
